STREAMWARE TO SHOWCASE MAJOR NEW RELEASE TO IMPROVE OPERATORS’ PROFITABILITY AT NAMA EXPOSITIO
—New Handheld, New Features and Functionality Mark Major Release—
NAMA BOOTH 1419
Norwood, MA, September 25, 2007– Crane Streamware, a Crane Co. Company, will showcase its recently launched VendMAX/DeliveryMAX 4.2.3 at the NAMA expo in Chicago. This major release includes significant enhancements to help operators improve profitability through merchandising, forecasting, and cash accountability. It focuses on three features unique to Streamware—Space-to-Sales alignment, pre-kitting, and bill recycler integration. The company will also unveil its new Windows® Mobile handheld application, supporting Motorola’s MC70 and MC9000 Enterprise Digital Assistants and the Intermec 740 series handhelds.
Streamware will also preview at NAMA two VendMAX enhancements that will debut in early 2008—cold food forecasting with FoodMAX and business intelligence with DataMAX. The new FoodMAX has engineered a state-of-the-art forecasting methodology with an emphasis on minimizing food waste and maximizing sales while offering appetizing menus of food choices. FoodMAX can now handle new product introductions, non-menu products, and forecasting a product mix to match the food machine tray sizes.
DataMAX, Streamware’s online analytical processing (OLAP) tool for senior executives, has been completely restyled to seamlessly integrate with VendMAX. “We listened to our clients and revamped DataMAX from top to bottom,” said Streamware’s Peg Barcelo. “By embedding DataMAX directly in VendMAX, we’ve made it far more user friendly. The screens are intuitive with familiar looking VendMAX reporting filters.” Barcelo noted DataMAX now has more customizable, executive-level reporting capabilities. “Operators can run reports like year-over-year sales comparison or a rolling 12-month trend analysis to help them make informed decisions about their businesses.” Both FoodMAX and DataMAX are in beta-test now with a first quarter 2008 release.
Handheld Enhancements
Streamware has selected Motorola’s MC70 and MC9000 devices as the most appropriate handhelds for its new Windows-based application. The ruggedized, mobile devices incorporate phone (MC70), PDA, computer, and scanner

capabilities and are designed for the rigors of all-day, every day usage in the field and the office. “Motorola is the world’s largest handheld manufacturer, with an outstanding reputation for reliability and innovation,” said Damien Moroney, Streamware Vice President of Sales and Marketing. VendMAX is also compatible with the Intermec 740 series.
Motorola Promotion for New and Current Customers
To kick-off its new handheld, Streamware is offering product discounts to both current and prospective customers. VendMAX customers who trade in their SPT 1800 handhelds can buy the MC70 handheld for $995 a unit and the MC9000 for $1,350, sizable discounts off the base rate. New customers who sign up with VendMAX by December 31, 2007 can purchase the MC70 for $1,195 and the MC9000 for $1,495.
Software Enhancements/VendMAX
“VendMAX/DeliveryMAX 4.2.3 continues Streamware’s commitment to simplifying vending software for the user while increasing features and functionality,” said Moroney. “We’ve engineered sophisticated technology into the new product but made it easier to install, learn, and use.”
Space-to-Sales
Can and bottle machines equipped with advanced space-to-sales and column slaving features have always been challenging to manage when the software relies on DEX data for column sales information. New features in VendMAX allow users to set up a plan-o-gram to represent how any machine is configured, such as by flavor instead of column. Because VendMAX will now treat all columns with the same flavor together, the space-to-sales sellout allowance combines allowances for individual columns.
Pre-Kitting
VendMAX is the only vending software solution that allows operators to pre-kit their trucks with the days’ products. Service Order changes will now let operators improve ADS calculation, properly account for sell-out numbers, and forecast into the future. Long-term forecasting will let operators, for example, pre-kit bins for Friday, Saturday, and Monday on a Friday afternoon, eliminating Saturday labor costs.
Bill Recycler Capability
Limitations in the current DEX standard have made cash accountability virtually non-existent for machines with bill recyclers. Crane Payment Solutions and Crane Streamware engineers developed a solution that provides accurate accountability by adding data fields in a machine’s DEX output. As a result, operators using Crane’s Currenza
recycler and Streamware’s VendMAX will have an accurate count of bills and coins collected from recycler-equipped machines. VendMAX and Currenza is the only software/recyler combination that now closes this accountability hole in recycler usage.
DeliveryMAX Feature Enhancements/Accounts Receivable
Streamware engineers have made significant enhancements to the DeliveryMAX Accounts Receivable functionality. Based on general accounting principles, these improvements include easier-to-read customer statements; access to
AR views by customer, location, and POS; and new A/R history, aging, and finance charges reports.
